Donald "Bud" Mathisen, age 89, born July 24, 1927, passed away from complications of Alzheimer's on January 17, 2017. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Evelyn; sons, David and Gene; grandson, Jason; and siblings, Virginia, LeRoy, Marvin, and Kenneth. Bud is survived by dear friend, Betty Bauer; children, Michael, Donald (Robin), and Donna (Bob); grandchildren, Dan, Rob, Amy, Chris, Brian, Katie, and Karie; great-grandchildren, Gracie, Joey, Dylan, Lexi, Ally, and Emerson; and siblings, Dolly, Ellen, and Mitz. A special thanks to the staff at Regions Hospital for their care, kindness, and compassion during his final days. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Memorials preferred to the Alzheimer's Association or Advocates for Improved Care for Seniors.
