Obituary of Ellen Freda Muehlenthaler

Ellen Freda (Degerstrom) Muehlenthaler went peacefully to her heavenly home on October 14, 2019.  She was born January 19, 1921, in Askov and lived 98 years, mostly in St. Paul, with the last nine happily residing in Good Samaritan Home.

Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; daughter, Judy; parents, Selma & Fred Degerstrom; and 11 siblings.

Ellen was a Loving Mother to Jean Muehlenthaler and Lori Schmidt; Grandmother to Dan (Jessica) Gunther and Mark Schmidt; and Great-grandmother to Alexa and Catherine.  

Ellen’s strong Christian faith inspired her to serve Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church and the East Side community in various ways, including 40 years of teaching Sunday School.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 25, 2019 at Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church, 1669 Arcade Street (Hwy 61), Saint Paul. Interment immediately following the service at Union Cemetery in Maplewood.
