Obituary of Barbara L. Josephson
Please share a memory of Barbara to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Barbara Louise (Johnson) Josephson, of St. Paul, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 11, 2020 at the age of 86 while listening to Silent Night supported by family & caregivers.
Barb was a graduate of Johnson High School. She met the love of her life, Charles “Chuck” Josephson while working at Sundberg Drug's soda fountain on Payne Avenue where she served him the best malt of his life. Ice cream would be their favorite treat during their 65 years together. Together they raised four sons. Barb's family meant the world to her. She cherished spending time with family and keeping up with what her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were doing. Barb also enjoyed getting to know people everywhere she went ~ making longtime friends along the way at Wuollet’s Bakery and Lunds & Byerly’s. Lunch and dinner celebrations at Fabulous Ferns, Olive Garden, and Famous Dave’s were always a treat. In later years, she delighted in “parties” with Chuck for a coffee break and treat each afternoon.
Barb will be dearly missed by her sons: Steve, Tim, Jim (Caryn), and John (Carrie); her precious grandchildren: Diana Johnstone (Mike), Nate (Emily), Scott, Seth, and Maria; her sweet great-grandchildren: Adele, Lola, Sonja, Elsa, and Quintin; many nieces, nephews, and in-laws; as well as special friends and neighbors who loved her. Barb was reunited with her beloved husband, Chuck in heaven; as well as her parents, Carl & Tekla Johnson; her brothers, Gordon and Walter; sister Norma; and other special relatives & friends.
Sincere thanks from Barb’s family to the many caregivers who served her with kindness and compassion at Cherrywood Pointe in Roseville and from Fairview Hospice last year. Barb was a longtime member of Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church.
Memorial Service is 2:00PM on Friday, September 10th, 2021 at Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church, 1669 N. Arcade Street (Hwy 61), Saint Paul. Memorials preferred to the church. Private Interment was at Roselawn Cemetery.
