ENGDAHL, Samuel E., was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on October 1, 1941 to Chester & Ruth Engdahl. He died at age 79 on December 22, 2020 from advanced multiple sclerosis. The family moved to Chisago City, Minnesota in the winter of 1945. Sam attended grade school and high school there through the 10th grade. The family then moved back to St. Paul and kept their lake property in Chisago City. Sam graduated from St. Paul Johnson High School and received a two-year degree from the University of Wisconsin, River Falls. Sam also served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He was a salesman most of his life until MS took its toll on his mobility. He lived with his brother and chief caregiver, Keith.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Charles. He is survived by his sister, June; brother, Keith, and sister-in-law, Ruth; nephews, Kevin (Lisa), Mark (Michele), and Charles II (Leigh); and grand-nephews & nieces, Eric (Laura), Cory (Kirsten), Ellise (Nick); Quentin, Ethan, Emily, Charles III, and Joseph. He also is survived by a great-grandniece, Amelia Eyre, daughter of Eric & Laura Engdahl.
A private graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, and a Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later time at New Life Evangelical Lutheran Church in Shoreview, Minnesota.
