Ruth Emilie Ottoson (Remmele) passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 23rd, 2021 at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by herparents, Adolf & Emilie Remmele; husbands, Ken Belair Jr. and Clifford Ottoson; brother, Walter Remmele; son, Thomas Belair; and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Belair. Ruth is survived by her son, Michael Belair; grandson, Kevin (Kara) Belair; two great-granddaughters she adored: Addison and Emilie Belair; along with many relatives & friends.
Ruth was born and raised in St. Paul by her parents who immigrated from Klingenberg / Heilbronn, Germany. She attended Humboldt High School where she found her passion for shorthand and typing, leading to a lifelong career at 3M where her proudest accomplishment was helping to start their Employee Assistance Program. Ruth was a loyal employee and devoted mother who selflessly worked to provide a good life for her sons and later on, her grandson. After her second husband, Clifford, passed away from Alzheimer’s Disease, she became a founding member of Widows or Widowers (WOW) where she often hosted group members for card playing and socializing. Ruth will be remembered for her kind heart and deep love for her family (and ice cream).
