Marjorie Louise SKON-MILLER (Rockstroh), loving mother and grandmother, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, January 29, 2021 at age 100. She was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on December 7, 1920 to Jacob and Winifred Rockstroh. Marjorie was preceded in death by her sister, Dolores Watters; brother, Jacob Rockstroh; and husbands, Charles Skon and Darrell Miller. She is survived by children, Tim, Sally (Mark) Peterson, Peter and Jon (Kay). Grandmother of Dean, Audra, Jason, Heather, Heidi, Becky, Carl, Peter Jr. and Jeremiah, and predeceased, Eddie. Great-grandmother to 18.
Marjorie attended Johnson High School graduating in 1939. She married Charles Skon in 1943. For 60 years she attended and served in many capacities at First Evangelical Free Church. For 25 years Marjorie worked at New Harmony Care Center as their Activities Director. She also worked at St. John’s Hospital, Vadnais Heights as the Seniors Coordinator, and volunteered at Second Harvest for 12 years. In 1996 she was married to Darrell Miller for 13 years. At 82 years old Marjorie decided to retire. She loved her family and friends and was blessed with their times together. Marjorie had a great sense of humor; we never knew what humorous comment she was going to make next. Activities she enjoyed were sewing, knitting, cross stitch needlepoint, traveling to every U.S. state and Sweden, Norway, Denmark twice.
Thanks to New Harmony Care Center and Fairview Hospice for their great care. Private interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
