Obituary of Lizabeth "Beth" Joy Miller

Lizabeth “Beth” Joy Miller, Angel in our Family, from Sauk Rapids, formerly of St. Paul, died on December 8, 2021. She was born on May 2, 1974. Beth graduated Class of 1992 from St. Paul Johnson High School, where she played in the band, was hockey manager, and competed on the golf team. Beth held a variety of jobs before entering the medical field; an automobile service technician at Tom’s Mobile, a member of the grounds crew at Hillcrest Golf Course, and sales representative at Dunham’s and the Legion in Waite Park. From 2008-2019 she was the Decontamination Specialist at CentraCare Health in St Cloud. In 2019, she started at M Health Fairview in Princeton, where she was employed as their lead instrument technician. Beth loved sports, especially Gopher hockey. She loved traveling with her family and friends to Telemark Resort near Cable, WI. She most enjoyed the North Shore, where she spent time with her brother and family. She followed her nephews for years while they played football, hockey and baseball. She continued keeping tabs on them when they went skiing and mountain biking. She loved their adventures and even shared their links with her friends. Beth’s gift was her ability to make friends. A stranger was just a friend she hadn’t met yet. She made people feel comfortable and loved, lighting up the room with her quick wit and enormous sense of humor. The number of lives she touched is countless. Her favorite times were dressing up in character and brightening everyone’s day. Laughter came so easily with Beth around; it really was the best medicine! As her name reflects, Beth was truly a JOY. She will be dearly missed by her family and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce; grandparents, Ray & Fran Miller and Art & Ethel Thelander. Beth is survived by her father, Jerry; brother, Tim (Brenda); and nephews, Frankie and Andrew. Visitation is from 11:00AM – 1:00PM, with Funeral Service at 1:00PM, on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church, 1669 Arcade Street (Hwy 61), Saint Paul.
