Dale L. Laidlaw left his life here on earth Sunday, December 26, 2021 to meet his beloved Savior in Heaven.
Dale Laidlaw was born March 21, 1953 in Litchfield, MN to Glen & Geraldine Laidlaw. He grew up in Burbank Township near New London and graduated in 1971 from New London-Spicer High School. He worked for Wachtler Construction for several years, and then furthered his education at Willmar Vo-Tech (Ridgewater College), graduating in 1979 as a pipefitter. He worked at numerous places in the US, including nuclear power plants.
Dale married Bonnie Erickson in 1974. They were blessed with 4 children, Adam, Jesse, Amber and Megan. The family traveled with Dale for several years, and then settled back in New London.
Dale was a lifelong hunter and fisherman, sharing happy adventures with his brother, sons, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
After retirement Dale moved to the Twin City area. At Trinity Baptist (now LifePoint) he rededicated his life to the Lord, and there met Joyce Bjorklund, who he married May 20, 2017. Together they served in various capacities at the church. Dale was a member of the Church Board of Stewards, chairman of Building and Grounds, and also was an usher, kitchen helper, and special friend of many senior members. Dale taught Joyce to love fishing together, and she taught him to appreciate music.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Linda Donnay.
Dale is survived by his wife, Joyce; children, Adam (Alyson) Laidlaw of Sartell, Jesse (Lindsay) Laidlaw of New London, Amber Laidlaw of Brooten, and Megan (Adam) Hermanson of Parkers Prairie; grandchildren, Olivia and Wyatt Laidlaw, Ella Wood, Reece and Chyler Michaud, William Laidlaw, Landon and Edyn Hermanson; brothers, Michael (Saundra) and Paul Laidlaw, both of St. Cloud.
Funeral Service is 11:00am on Monday, January 3, 2022, at LifePoint Church, 2220 Edgerton Street, Maplewood, with Visitation at 10:00am. Interment to follow at Roseville Cemetery in Hawick, MN at 3:00pm. Memorials preferred to LifePoint Church or Overcomers International Fellowship in St. Cloud.
