Doherty family, sending love and prayers to you all. Mom loved her brother so much, she would not go to bed before he was born, she was five years old and Grandpa Doherty put a chait outside the bedroom door for her, she waited patiently until Pat was born and they brought him to her to hold, he was 14 pounds. Pat was a beautiful son and brother, Uncle Pat was a loving Uncle with a generous heart and a quick wit. We will miss you Uncle Pat, thank you for being a shinging example on how to love others. I feel truly saddened to have lost my Uncle Pat. I wasn't as fortunate as my other cousins to have grown up around Uncle Pat since we moved to California. But every visit I had with him was memorable. I learned so much about my grandparents and aunts and uncles from Pat. Things my mom didn't remember. My most fond memory of him is during the 2013 Doherty Family Reunion. We caravaned in separate cars through Prior Lake and the area the Doherty's grew up. Pat was in one car on a cell phone and we were in another car with the cell speaker on listening as Pat acted as our tour guide and educated us on the farm and the area where he and my mom and their other siblings grew up. Pat made that trip truly special for me. To my cousins who lost their Dad, you were all so lucky to have Pat as your father and I know his spirit will live on in your hearts. Rest in peace, Uncle. You truly were a wonderful soul, and I know that God will reward you in heaven.

I remember my Uncle Pat as a warm and loving man. My mother, Helen, is Pat's sister. She and I and a couple of my sisters attended the 2013 Doherty Family Reunion. It was the first time we had come from California and attended the reunion. Months before the reunion, my mother wrote a letter to the owners of the house where she, Pat ,and their siblings grew up when they moved from the farm to the city, and asked if they would give us a tour of the house. They agreed. As we walked through the house, Pat and Mom reminisced of days long ago. They remembered so many details. I loved hearing those stories. Thank you Uncle Pat for being such an amazing brother to my Mom and a super Uncle. This is a photo I took of Pat and Mom in front of the Doherty home in the city.
