Obituary of Ruth Ann Klamm

Ruth Ann Klamm passed peacefully on December 4, 2023 in St. Paul, Minnesota at the age of 89. She transitioned with the love of her family – both beside her bedside and here in heart. She is survived by her children Lori Klamm-Holloway, Kristin Klamm-Doneen, and son-in-law Randall Doneen. Her passing follows that of her late son Brian Klamm earlier in the year. She is also survived by her sister Twila Mattson and her brother Bill Mattson. Many grandchildren love and celebrate her life: Brian and Spencer Klamm, Shane Gambill, Kristofer Holloway, Claire Katz, Dean and Cecilia Doneen, and great grandson (through Kris Holloway) Aidan McVeigh-Holloway. Ruth’s life is proof that family and friends come in many forms. Sometimes family is born and sometimes it is chosen in those we come to love. She is also followed by her beloved daughter Mary Navarro, and granddaughters Candie Lorenzo and Cyndie Navarro-Davila. Great grandchildren include Trinity Lorenzo, Angie Lorenzo, Xavier Lorenzo, and Farrah Davila. Ruth had an active life as a community organizer, contributing to progressive causes as well as business endeavors throughout her life. She also loved travel, cooking, sewing and music. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandparent, sister and daughter. As a long-term Methodist, but a transplant to Minnesota, Ruth was active in Path of Grace Methodist Church in Maplewood, MN for the past decade. Her spunk, drive, wit, humor, resilience, curiosity, social consciousness, and gregarious personality will be tremendously missed by many. A memorial will be held at Path of Grace Methodist Church at 759 County Road B East, Maplewood, MN on Saturday, December 30th. Visitation is from 10:00-11:00 AM, the service is at 11:00 AM and a potluck lunch follows the service.
