Obituary of Wallace Adams

Wallace “Wally” Adams was born in St. Paul in 1933.
After graduating from Monroe High School Wally enlisted in the US Air Force and served as a staff Sargent during the Korean War.
Wally joined the St. Paul Fire Department and in 1971 became an inaugural member of the Station 6 paramedic team, one of the first in the nation.
He loved dirt track racing and won several championships at Stillwater Speedway with cars he built with his cousin, legendary auto craftsman Carl Zechbauer. He also was an early member of the Minnesota Street Rod Association and traveled the country attending car shows with his family.
Wally was known by his many friends for his humor and his generous hospitality. He is preceded by his father Wallace and mother Agnes (Ihrig), and his step-parents Helen Adams and Don Ihrig. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Joyce (Hahn), son Guy (Mimi) of Los Angeles, daughter Melissa Couch (Tony) of Oakdale, and grandchildren Theo Adams, Hannah Couch, Sydney Couch, and Bryce Couch.
Visitation Friday, March 8th, from 11:00AM-1:00PM at Anderson Funeral Home, 1401 Arcade Street (Hwy 61) N, St. Paul followed by a 1:30 Graveside Service at Sunset Memorial Park, 2250 St. Anthony Boulevard, N.E. Minneapolis.
