Hamm’s Life And her Promotion to Heaven Faith — Family — Faithfulness The impact of Marjorie’s life was based on her faith. She loved the Lord. She was a faithful loving wife to Orie Lee for 62 years. Marge loved her family dearly, and diligently sought time with them, ever deepening the bonds she had with them. She also had many friends because people were drawn to her as God poured out His love for others through her. Marge began attending East Immanuel Church as a baby—over 100 years a member of this Church. She was baptized here, and it is here she is saying farewell to this earthly life. Through faith in Christ we all have the opportunity to join Marge, and others who’ve gone before her, in heaven. Marge’s joy in the last days and hours of her life was hearing scripture read to her and singing hymns. It’s impossible to put into words the love and generosity she poured into the lives of the five generations of her family and friends and all that she means to each of us individually. But we each will live with those memories in our hearts. A glimpse of Marge’s heart through a prayer she wrote: I pray that You will satisfy all my longings & fill all my hollow places with Your lavish, unfailing love. I surrender my thought life to You & pray You will watch over my mind to guard, protect, and keep it. I ask You to be the Watchman on the wall of my mind. Before a word is on my tongue, You know it completely, O Lord. Ps 139:4 Set a guard over my mouth, O Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips. Ps 141:3 Lord, I ask you to enable me to be wise, prudent, discerning, and sensible in the way I think, act, and speak. You see everything and know what is really happening, so I am leaning on You to lead me in every situation. Teach me when to sit still & when to act. You are my leader, so I look to You to lead me & to help me do exactly what is right in every situation. I pray this in Jesus’ name. A glimpse of Marge’s life through her desire for her family: In the last days of her life, Marge was asked what she wanted her children, grandchildren, great and great-great-grandchildren to know. This was her reply, “I want them to know Jesus.” Because of Jesus, Marge has passed from this life to an eternity in heaven. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is a gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast. Eph 2:8 Marge has been well-loved and will be dearly missed, but her legacy lives on…
