Obituary of John Paul Bartle
Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Age 62. Born December 30, 1961. Passed away suddenly at his home in Dayton. John is preceded in death by his parents, Harold & Joan Bartle, his grandparents, and Uncle John Pauley. He is survived by siblings, Daniel Bartle, Kathleen (Bob) Hedstrom, & Patty O’Keefe; 7 nieces & nephews; 16 great nieces & nephews; “uncles” and cousins; many dear friends especially Richard Wait & Miki Joyner.
John grew up in New Hope and graduated from Cooper High School. He loved cars and was talented at restoration and refurbishing in which he had done since junior high school, going on to on the job training. Working for the Hot Rod Factory, he found his niche, his “dream job” where he met his mentor and dear friend in owner, Rich Wait.
John was very good to family, a tender and gentle man with a good soul. If needed he would be there and would go out of his way, especially if it was with car repairs! John was very astute and interested in what was happening in the world. His favorite magazine was National Geographic and he had a good understanding of people and the world.
John loved animals, particularly cats. He rescued and fostered dozens of cats, many of which became long term companions – always making sure they had good care.
A Memorial Gathering for John will be Friday, August 23rd from 3-6PM at Hidden Haven Golf Club, 20520 Polk Street NE, Cedar, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to family. Memorials will be distributed to agencies who have helped with John’s cats and to feline rescue groups in John's name.
Special thanks to Heidi McMillan & the Rescue Pack for the enormous help with the cats. Thanks to Hidden Haven Golf Club for the hospitality. Thanks to Rum River Veterinary clinic for their generous care.
