Obituary of Steve Johnson

Passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 2, 2014 at home with family. Survived by son Greg (Nancy), daughter Teri (Mike) Larson; grandkids Tommy, Maggie, and Molly Johnson; sisters-in-law June (Roger) Norblom and Shirley Kahara; nieces Pam and Kristin; nephews Jeff, Paul, Mike, Stephen, and Daniel; many life long friends. Preceded in death by loving wife of 44 years Jane, parents Carl Oscar and Martha Johnson. Steve was a life-long East-Sider, attending Johnson High School, University of Minnesota, and University of Wisconsin-River Falls. He was retired from his life's work in the electrical business, starting as an electrician with his dad, then as an electrical estimator and owner at Claude Anderson Electric, retiring from Merit Electric. Steve dedicated much of his life as a volunteer at Arlington Hills Lutheran Church, and was a long time youth coach at Prosperity Playground. He most enjoyed his grandkids and family; Gopher Hockey; time with friends, the ROMEO's and church groups. Steve's family wishes to thank St. Paul's FD/PD first responders and staff at United Hospital. Steve's life will be celebrated at a memorial service Wed. Jan. 8th, 11 am at ARLINGTON HILLS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1115 Greenbrier St., St. Paul. Visitation Tues. Jan. 7th, 4 to 8 pm at ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 1401 Arcade St., and at church one hour prior to service. Memorials preferred to Arlington Hills Lutheran Church or donor's choice.
