Alex and I were good friends while we were in the Army in Alaska as air traffic controllers. I loved him and we often fought (fist fights) like we were brothers. He once came to my house in Milwaukee and we fought over something and broke the railing going upstairs to the bedrooms (oops) while my wife was away. I bought an old two tone green F-100 pickup from him in Alaska that I drove for many years with a speaker setup he made. He, Andre Letourneau and I share a lot of memories together. We took many rides together in that green truck, discussed life and philosophy and drank too many beers together. He went back to Little Canada and I went back to college then to Colorado.
My wife and I just moved to Minnesota this year and I intended to surprise him with a visit this winter when I learned he died in 2016. My condolences and prayers to anyone who may read this. He had a soft heart and a hard head (which could be said of a lot of us). I truly loved him as a brother and rue not having not having the chance for one more time with him. May he rest in peace.
Prayers and best wishes for those left behind
