Obituary of Andrew Cornell Erlanson, MD
Avid citizen of Saint Paul, Dr. Andrew Cornell Erlanson, passed away July 21 aged 91. Beloved father, devoted husband, and dear man, he graduated from St Paul Central High School. After serving in the Navy during World War II, he went on to earn an MD from the University of Minnesota and complete a medical residency at Mayo Clinic. He served as chief of pediatrics at Gillette Hospital and later worked at HealthPartners Como Clinic. He also practiced in Saudi Arabia and volunteered at Ban Vinai Refugee Camp in Thailand, where he helped set up programs that greatly reduced the spread of hepatitis and tetanus.
Andy and his wife Lois, who predeceased him, attended Trinity Baptist Church for decades. Andy also played hymns for Community Bible Study for over 10 years. He sang in the 1973 Billy Graham Crusade Choir and was a counselor during the 1970s. He could play any melody he heard on any instrument he touched. He is deeply missed by his family and friends.
