Obituary of Lois Lorraine Rood

Lois Lorraine Rood was born to Albert & Anna Nelson of Duluth, MN on January 2, 1928. She was United in marriage to Robert Rood, also from Duluth, on April 8, 1950. They raised 2 daughters, Kathy and Lynn. In the early years of marriage, Lois and Bob enjoyed square dancing. Lois bowled on many leagues for the past 50+ years, even bowling 2 days each week through this past year! She also enjoyed golfing with Bob and many friends. Lois played cards with her bowling teammates, as well as with a group from church. She also enjoyed gardening in her backyard. She loved being active and enjoyed good health most of her life. She lived in her home and took care of herself (with a lot of help in the end due to her Alzheimer's disease) until last July, when she moved to New Perspective Memory Care in Woodbury. They were a wonderful group that took great care of Lois and we so appreciate all they did for her.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; one brother & two sisters. She is survived by  her daughters, Kathy (Mark) Nelson and Lynn (Arlyn) Swenson; grandchildren, Stephanie (Richard), Ashleigh (Sam), Zach (Stephanie), Kameron (Terry), Brittany (Dain), and Kristen (Louie); and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial Service is at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 12, 2019 at THE GROVE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 7465 Steepleview Road, Woodbury. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment Woodbury Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org).
