Kristine Ursula O'Brien (Trenda)
Kris was born September 25, 1952 in Red Wing MN and passed away June 28, 2019 in St. Paul, MN at the age of 66. Kris grew up on the East side of St. Paul and went to St. Casimirs Catholic grade school and she graduated from Archbishop Murray High School in 1970. After High School she attended the University of Minnesota. Kris met her Husband Jeff at the age of 18 while working at the Arcade Theatre and Applebaums grocery store. Jeff and Kris started dating in the summer of 1971, they were married on June 9th 1979 (Kris and Jeff just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary). Twelve years later they had a wonderful daughter Rebecca. Kris worked for 43 years at the law firm of Dudley and Smith.
Kris enjoyed spending time with Jeff going on motorcycle rides, going to the cabin, travelling, boating, and never missed a Friday night dinner at Magnolia's. She also loved coaching Becca's softball teams, shopping, and spending time with her. Kris was a great bargain shopper and loved a good garage sale. Wednesday nights were always spent with her best friends playing softball or bowling.
Kris was a great cook and was known to never show up at a family event without pickle roll ups and deviled eggs. She was also known for her amazing banana bread. Kris was a spelling and grammar master, she was always willing to proofread Becca and Drew’s papers. When Kris was not spending her free time being with family and friends she also loved being in her garden.
She was an amazing wife, mother, sister, and friend to many and will be loved and missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by husband Jeff; daughter Rebecca and son-in-law Drew Welter; sister Wanda (David) Timmers, and many family and friends.
A wake will be held Thursday (7/11) 4pm-8pm at Anderson funeral home in St. Paul.
Funeral Friday (7/12) 11am at St. Casimirs church in St. Paul with visitation one hour prior to service.
